Areas of Focus

  • Creating a game within the constraints of a Game Jam weekend for the first time
  • Collaborating with others, both inside and outside my skillset 
  • Highlighting what areas I’m comfortable creating quickly and efficiently



Reflection
    This was the first ever game jam I had attended. As such, my main goals were pretty simple: find other people to make a game with and submit something at the end of the weekend, which I was thankfully able to accomplish.

    The team found the theme of 'Make Me Laugh' to be subjective, so we subverted the prompt and used laughter as an antagonist.

    While the idea and its execution were rather simple, and the game has rough edges, I had a ton of fun working on this project with new people. It gave me a handful of good ideas about how to make simple, pre-made frameworks for  main menus, pause screens, settings, and other frequently used components in game development.
