Reflection
My first foray into 3D Modelling as well as one of my first assignments completed during my masters.
I incorporated a few basic elements into my scene taking inspiration from Splatoon 3, and the anime Yowamushi Pedal. I modeled in a low-poly style and then texture painted using basic colors rather complex or realistic textures. The goal was to evoke the early 3d graphics era of the Playstation 1 and Nintendo 64 which has shown a resurgence in popularity in Indie game development.
While I was already aware of the skill, time, and knowledge required to work as a 3D artist, working on this project increased my respect for the craft even more. Overall, I’m very happy with how my scene turned out. Working on this project has instilled within me the confidence that I can create my own assets in future projects.
